THEATER OF TWISTED VANITIES

Theater of Twisted Vanities melds the human form, water and fabric creating a surreal world of transformation and unpredictable bodily distortions. The series explores the human figure draped and veiled in wet silks; suspended between revelation and distortion. Sepia toning, hand coloring and heavy vignettes evoke antique viewing devices and the aesthetics of early 20th century photographs, inviting the audience into a timeless psychological spectacle where beauty bends toward myth, sanctity, monstrosity, and decay.

Each plate functions as a contemporary myth viewed through a relic of the past. The process is entirely physical: fabric, water, gravity, and light construct the transformations in-camera. Absolutely no AI generative imaging, layering, filters or digital compositing were used in the creation of these works — only the natural physical and optical effects of water, fabric and light in collaboration with the body human.
